Bodypositive - what is it? This is a social movement, originally created by feminists. It is aimed at accepting one's own imperfect body and destroying negative opinions, labels, established stereotypes of thinking in relation to people whose appearance does not meet generally accepted standards.

Therefore, I am not talking about a HLS brain. There are a huge number of people who have sports activities (excessive, as it may seem from the outside), the head is well ventilated. Physical discharge can improve mental settings.

Personally, I consider myself to be body-positive because I accept my own body. It is quite normal for myself throughout life. The only thing was a turning point when I heard: “So you are not normal! You are not beautiful. ” This is probably not some kind of conversation or meeting. I then participated in one project about appearance, beauty, and so on along with other girls plus. And after that a huge amount of dirt spilled on me. The word "fat" has ceased to be abusive. I was very impressed. Before that, I always thought: "There you are, there we are - people are different." - Yes, in doubt. No, I did not want to sharply decrease. But then there were projects, there were surveys, there were other reviews. The girls wrote to me and said that for the first time they can watch fashion shows and fashion shots normally. Everything has changed. I regained my confidence.

- I have been doing this business one way or another for almost ten years. There were big breaks, but now there is demand. Nobody puts a label on me. I am a labor market player. - Do you advocate bodypositive?

- Everything is pretty calm. I will not defend bodipositiv in the comments. A person will never change his opinion until something happens to him or his relatives.

I think one thing is that I don’t close, I don’t sit at home, but I calmly take part in laundry shows, choose tight clothes, even if someone may not like it, this is a small protest. Because the mass believes that people who do not fall into the standards should go to the robes and not shine anywhere. My work is aimed at promoting different bodies.

At the same time, I note that any desire to accept oneself should not turn into fascism. “I accept myself and do not accept those who are not like me” - this is too rude. Basically, we are talking about one of the varieties of tolerance. Different - equal. Tolerance to weight.

Someone is thin, someone is not. I even stopped at the very word “fat”. There is a moment of mental health that is more important. Any publication on the Internet with my participation is commented in the spirit of “how I was born into the world and walk on it”. Okay.

- Purely medical moment. Heavy weight may increase the risk of disease.

“I can say that the motto“ My body is my business ”is as beautiful as a few paragraphs above. And answers many questions. I read one opinion. To speak in the spirit of “grow thin, or you will get sick” is a great hypocrisy. Overweight and all that - well, good. But let the advisers look after their medical records, okay? We are adults capable people. We are ready to make decisions ourselves and take responsibility for them. Everything. Point.

- How is your health?

- I think that is healthy.

- Do you think or do doctors think?

- I pass inspection every year. Doctors say that everything is fine.

"A fat person has the right to be fat without propaganda"

And even if we are talking about diseases, then the lack of desire to treat them is also laziness.

Obesity is only 15-20% of people who are overweight. The rest is a bunch of associated diseases. As a rule, for the same plus size models with which the whole bodypositive is mistakenly associated, the history with diets and workouts does not work. They need to work specifically with doctors.

Excess weight carries with it diseases, loss of functionality, living standards drop if you cannot climb to the third floor without shortness of breath or are not able to tie shoelaces.

Everyone knows that the endocrine system immediately flies from obesity, this is a disruption of all the internal systems of the body, the digestive tract suffers simply monstrous. Well, in general, a medical fact: among people with obesity, mortality is higher. High risks of coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, and so on - this is not healthy. Yes, no one says that an extra dozen of weight will kill you right now, but it increases the risks of diseases, which with a high probability will finish you up to 50. Do you want to spend half your life in queues at the clinic and work on medications?

Almost all the so-called plus size models in one or another period of time tried to lose weight. This is not a story about "I have been overweight and enjoyed my whole life." They tried to lose weight, but they did not succeed. I wrote a direct cloud such: "I want to lose weight, come on, come on, come on." But the majority did not even reach the stage of drafting some kind of diet.

Any model plus size, when she will talk about possible problems associated with overweight, will begin to remember about bodypositive. I had one client. 24 years old, overweight more than 35 kilograms. And in general, the most popular is the popularization of bodypositive. And for some reason, this story only works for women. Why there is no fashion for men plus size? What kind of discrimination?

And this is the same bend, only in the other direction. Most likely, it will be just as transient. Simply, there is fashion, but there is a question of quality of life and health. I am really looking forward to when everyone starts to sink for a healthy lifestyle. After all, a healthy person is a beautiful person.

- There is. But this is my point of view, as a person working with the body. I am always in good health. Instinctively, people are drawn to healthy people. This is nature. Yes, there is the slogan of body-positive comrades “My body is my business.” You are welcome. If you do not promote that full to be healthy, be full, no one will say a word to you. A fat man has the right to be fat.

I am radically against the current situation, when stupid laziness is formulated as body-positive. But I feel the same way about fitness fascism. I am also against the standards imposed by the fitness industry. These are problems of roughly the same scale. People tend to meet someone's expectations and, as a rule (due to lack of knowledge), harm their body.

“Body-positive is not just talking about excess weight”

Says a practical psychologist and psychotherapist Yanina Lovcheva.

- Bodypositive - a social movement aimed at the development of a friendly attitude towards any human body. Yours or someone else - it does not matter. For Belarus, the topic is complicated. According to my feelings, tolerance in this matter is not the strongest. A bodypositive, regardless of the level of its prevalence, requires clarification. In general, we will talk about accepting different bodies and understanding the essence of this process.

If you deliberately google links about bodipositive, it becomes clear that the movement was based on a personal tragedy. It is founded by two women sociologists. One of them prematurely died sister. The reason for this was eating disorder. And any such disorder is often associated with a distorted perception of his own body.

- The correct perception of your body - is it like?

- We can treat our body objectively and subjectly.

The object relation provides metaposition: "My body is not me, I look at it from the side." This is common among adolescents. The main task of a person in this period is to socialize. And the body is changing very much. Therefore, many adolescents perceive their own body as a tool: “If I look attractive in appearance, they will accept me. Everything is OK".

Over time, the body is formed, at the same time some experience is gained, a person learns to build relationships with the environment. The stage of the subjective attitude to the body begins. Like, I am my body. It doesn't matter if I have a defect, my body is part of me. This is an adult position.

An example of a problem position may be as follows. A 25-year-old girl is objectively related to the body, trying to understand what is wrong. As an option, resorts to plastic. Like, a new nose - a new life. But not the fact that it will work. Behind the nose in most cases go lips, chest and frustration.

- About eating behavior. People with such violations should be engaged in themselves or the society should change their attitude towards them?

- We must understand that there are people with a variety of problems - mental and physiological, which determine, among other things, how a person looks. And for them, the story of “pull yourself together and start eating or losing weight” simply does not work.

Obesity is a psychological problem. Often those extra pounds are protection - from the outside world or unresolved personal conflicts. Thus the psyche is defended.

But still, each case must be considered personally.

There are concepts of healthy fullness, setpoint, body constitution. All of them confirm the idea that each person has his own weight range, in which he is most comfortable both mentally and physically. Someone with his 120 kilograms can live perfectly. And he may be quite healthy (good blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol levels, and so on).
